Cypher abilities

TRAPWIRE

C

Places a hidden wire that slows enemies; a delayed zap or moving too far from it reveals them.

Press C, then left-click to stretch a wire between two surfaces. Cover a route you need to watch; recover it to redeploy.

CYBER CAGE

Q

Throws a remotely activated cage that blocks vision and sounds when enemies cross it.

Press Q to toss the device, then aim at it and press F to activate. Use the wire’s warning to time it; the cage does not slow enemies.

SPYCAM

E

Places a camera that watches an area and fires a dart to reveal a target.

Press E and left-click to place. Press E again to enter or leave the camera, and left-click in camera view to fire a dart. Keep your body safe; nearby enemies can detect the camera.

NEURAL THEFT

X

Uses a dead enemy to reveal every living enemy twice after a delay.

Aim at an enemy corpse and press X. The scans show positions at intervals, rather than continuously tracking movement.

Meet Cypher

Cypher is an information broker from Morocco. His wires, camera and cages help watch routes and share information with the team.

The official CHECKMATE short puts Cypher in the spotlight. It is an April Fools’ special; its exaggerated gameplay is separate from normal match mechanics.

Use wires to watch routes, the camera to extend your view and cages to block sightlines. Decide whether to peek or call after a device triggers. Your body still needs cover while you use the camera.

Cypher-inspired crosshair code

A tiny ice-blue cross sits inside four thick, short marks that frame a camera sight. The fine center helps place shots; the outer marks are easy to find but cover a little of the nearby view.
